Born in Hackney London on May 14, 1976 Martine McCutcheon began her acting career at age twelve in TV commercial and small parts in TV series. At fifteen McCutcheon cofounded the reasonably successful band Milan. After McCutcheon left the band she got a role on the BBC soap opera EastEnders. In 1999 McCutcheon left the show to release her debut album You Me & Us, followed by the albums Wishing in 2000 and Musicality in 2002. McCutcheon got her first film role in Love Actually, McCutcheon has also written two books Who Does She Think She Is?: My Autobiography and Martine McCutcheon: Behind the Scenes - A Personal Diary as well as her own fitness DVD Martine McCutcheon: Dance body workout.
