Born on September 18, 1971, in Baltimore, Maryland, Jada Koren Pinkett began her acting career in 1991 when she played Lena James on the TV series A Different World. Pinkett Smith’s was then in Menace II Society which she followed with roles in several films including A Low Down Dirty Shame, The Inkwell, and Jason's Lyric, Tales from the Crypt Presents: Demon Knight. Pinkett Smith gained popularity with her role in the movie The Nutty Professor and increased with her roles in Set It Off, Scream 2, Woo, Ali, and Bamboozled. In 2001 Pinkett Smith was cast as Niobe in the film The Matrix, she reprised the role for the two sequels The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, Pinkett Smith has since been in Collateral and was the voice of Gloria in Madagascar.
