Born on October 3, 1984, in Waco, Texas, Ashlee Nicole Simpson began her acting career in 2001 with a small role on the TV show Malcolm in the Middle. Simpson then appeared on the shows Saved by the Bell, The Donny & Marie Show, The Rosie O'Donnell Show, The View, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Hot Chick before she got a recurring role on the show 7th Heaven. In 2004 Simpson got her own TV show The Ashlee Simpson Show and in the same year she released her debut album Autobiography, which sold 398,000 copies and has since gone triple platinum. Simpson followed in 2005 with the album I Am Me which wasn’t as popular as her first album selling 220,000 copies in the first week.
