Born on June 1 1974, in Ottawa, Canada Alanis Nadine Morissette began her music career at a young age when she was on the TV show You Can't Do That on Television. Morissette signed onto MCA/Canada at age fourteen and released her self titled debut album in 1991. The album went platinum and was followed by Now Is the Time, Morissette’s next album Jagged Little Pill was a huge success, selling over 16 million copies. Morissette’s next album Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie did not achieve the same popularity going four times platinum, Morissette has since released the albums Alanis Unplugged, Under Rug Swept, So-Called Chaos and Alanis Morissette: The Collection.
