Born on August 7, 1975, in Benoni, South Africa, Charlize Theron began her acting career in 1996 in 2 Days in The Valley, later that year she appeared in the film That Thing You Do!. In 1997 Theron appeared in Trial and Error and The Devil's Advocate, and in 1998 Celebrity and Mighty Joe Young. Theron started to take on bigger roles in 1999 with The Astronaut's Wife and the award winning The Cider House Rules.
