Born 7 August 1970 in Mossley, Lancashire Melanie Sykes began her career in an advertisement for Boddingtons beer and for Berlei Lingerie. Sykes began her TV career when she had a spot on The Big Breakfast and the reality TV show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!. Sykes has also presented the shows Eastenders Revealed, Melanie Sykes' Southall stories, Today with Des and Mel, The Vault, Celebrities Under Pressure, Loose Women and the British Soap Awards.
