Born on September 18, 1971, in Baltimore, Maryland, Jada Koren Pinkett began her acting career in 1991 when she played Lena James on the TV series A Different World. Pinkett Smith’s was then in Menace II Society which she followed with roles in several films including A Low Down Dirty Shame, The Inkwell, and Jason's Lyric, Tales from the Crypt Presents: Demon Knight. Pinkett Smith gained popularity with her role in the movie The Nutty Professor and increased with her roles in Set It Off, Scream 2, Woo, Ali, and Bamboozled.
