Born on September 21, 1967, in Jackson, Mississippi, Audrey Faith Perry began her singing career at age nineteen when she became a backup singer for Gary Burr. Soon after Hill released her first album Take Me As I Am, which has since sold three million copies and in 1995 Hill followed with her second album It Matters to Me, which was certified four times platinum. In 1998 Hill released the album Faith which was successful and sold six million copies her next album Breathe would prove even more popular selling over ten million copies and numerous awards.
