Born on October 4, 1976 in San Francisco, California, Alicia Silverstone began her career at age six when she began modelling; the modelling led to commercials and eventually to geust appearances on the TV show The Wonder Years. Silverstone got her first starring role in the 1993 film The Crush in the same year Silverstone appeared in two made for TV movies Torch Song and Scattered Dreams. In 1995 Silverstone was in the movies Hideaway, the Babysitter and Le Nouveau Monde before she got her break when she was cast as Cher Horowitz in the movie Clueless.

Murphy got her break in 1995 movie Clueless, and increased her fame in 1999 with the popular movies Drop Dead Gorgeous and Girl, Interrupted. In 2001 Murphy was in a slew of movies including Riding in Cars with Boys, Sidewalks of New York, Summer Catch, Don't Say a Word, 8 Mile, Little Black Book, Just Married.
