Born on August 9, 1978, in Beaumont, France Audrey Tautou began her acting career in 1999 when she was in the award winning movie Venus Beauty Institute. Tautou then worked steadily in French movies including Marry Me, Pretty Devils, The Libertine, and The Beating of the Butterfly's Wings. In 2001 Tautou was cast as the lead character Amélie Poulain in the hugely successful movie Amelie after which she took a role in L'Auberge Espagnole (The Spanish Inn).
